MMM-U300317
VOLVO
MMM-U300317 - Battery Voltage. General Electrical Failures. Circuit voltage above threshold
System
Multi Media Module (MMM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
4 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
Show models by year and engine (4)
What does this fault code mean?
Although the code refers to battery voltage, the multimedia module (MMM) compares its own supply voltage with the CEM's reading. The code is set when that voltage is too high, which may be because the supply wire has been short-circuited to voltage.
Possible causes
- Supply cable short-circuited to voltage
What you can do
- 1Look for damage to the supply wire, particularly where it may have touched a live wire
- 2With a multimeter you can check that the supply wire has no contact with voltage while the car is switched off
- 3Check the connectors at the multimedia module for damage, loose contacts and oxidation
- 4Have a workshop measure the supply voltage to the multimedia module and compare it with that of the central electronic module
Symptoms you may notice1
- The navigation does not work
