Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns low temperature in the battery charger (OBC), which is measured by two temperature sensors built into it. At too low a temperature, charging from an external cable becomes weaker or stops altogether.
Possible causes
- Low ambient temperature
- Incorrect temperature sensor in the battery charger (OBC)
What you can do
- 1Check that the charging cable is fully connected and that its switch is on
- 2Once the temperature has become normal, charging should restart by itself; check that it does
- 3Have a workshop check the temperature in the battery charger and replace the control module if the fault remains
- 4Do not work on the high-voltage system yourself, for example the battery charger or its wiring; that is a job for a workshop
Symptoms you may notice2
- Charging of the high voltage battery from an external cable does not work or works poorly
- The lamp in the charging socket shows a fault or reduced charging
What the fault can affect2
- Charging of the high voltage battery may become weaker or stop completely
- The battery charger carries on charging by itself once the temperature is back to normal
