Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The battery charger control module (OBC) monitors the control relay for the engine block heater. The code is set when that relay is short-circuited to ground or overloaded, and charging of the high voltage battery may then fail.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to ground or overload in the control relay for the engine block heater
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check the wiring to the control relay for the engine block heater for damage and chafing
- 2Have a workshop check the wiring at the relay for a short to ground and for overload
- 3Do not work on the high-voltage system yourself, for example the battery charger or its wiring; that is a job for a workshop
Symptoms you may notice2
- Charging of the high voltage battery from an external cable does not work
- The lamp in the charging socket shows a fault or reduced charging
What the fault can affect1
- No charging of the high voltage battery can take place
