What does this fault code mean?
The battery charger control module (OBC) monitors its internal functions and sets the code when an incorrect value persists for a while. The fault may lie in poor contact at the connectors and joints, or in disturbances on the CAN network.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance, oxidation or poor contact at connectors and joints
- Disturbances or temporary breaks on the CAN network
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check that the connectors at the charging socket and at the battery charger are fully seated and free from oxidation
- 2Have a workshop check damage and chafing on the wires running to the charging socket and the battery charger
- 3Test charging with a working charging cable to see whether the fault remains
- 4Have a workshop check the CAN network and the communication with the battery charger
- 5Do not work on the high-voltage section yourself; the battery charger and its connections are a job for a workshop
Symptoms you may notice5
- A warning symbol and text message are shown
- Charging from an external cable does not work or works poorly
- The high voltage battery discharges or charges poorly
- The lamp in the charging socket signals a fault or reduced charging
- The lock of the charging socket does not lock or unlock
What the fault can affect1
- No charging of the high voltage battery can take place
