OBC-P0D2016 - Battery Charger Output Voltage Performance. General Electrical Failures. Circuit voltage below threshold
System
On-board Charger (OBC)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The battery charger control module (OBC) checks the output voltage once the charging cable is connected and charging has started. The code is set when the voltage is too low, and the fault may lie in the charging cable or the charging socket.
Possible causes
- The charging cable is defective
- An incompatible charging cable is used
- The charge socket is defective
What you can do
- 1Check that the charging cable is not damaged
- 2Check that the right type of charging cable is being used
- 3Look over the charge socket for damage
- 4Do not work on the high-voltage section yourself; have a workshop do it if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice4
- A text message and warning symbol are shown
- Charging from an external cable is missing or works poorly
- The high voltage battery discharges or charges poorly
- The lamp in the charging socket signals a fault or reduced charging
What the fault can affect1
- No charging of the high voltage battery can take place
