OBC-P0D2017 - Battery Charger Output Voltage Performance. General Electrical Failures. Circuit voltage above threshold
System
On-board Charger (OBC)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The battery charger control module (OBC) checks the output voltage once charging has started through the charging cable. The code is set when the voltage is too high, and the fault may lie in a defective charging cable or in the battery charger itself.
Possible causes
- The charging cable is defective
- Internal fault in the battery charger control module (OBC)
What you can do
- 1Look at the charging cable for breaks, damage and chafing
- 2If you have another compatible charging cable, try it and see whether the fault remains
- 3If the cable is intact and the fault remains, have a workshop check the battery charger
- 4Do not work on the battery charger or its connections yourself; it is part of the high-voltage section and a job for a workshop
Symptoms you may notice2
- Charging of the high voltage battery from an external cable does not work
- The lamp in the charging socket signals a fault or reduced charging
What the fault can affect1
- No charging of the high voltage battery can take place
