OBC-P0D5662 - Proximity Detection Circuit. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal compare failure
System
On-board Charger (OBC)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The charging control module (OBC) has found a comparison fault in the circuit that senses the charging cable. The pilot signal from the charging cable is active, but the resistance signal that shows which current has been selected is missing. Charging is not possible while the fault remains.
Possible causes
- The charging socket in the car is damaged
- The charging cable is damaged
- Poor contact between the charging socket and the control module OBC
What you can do
- 1Read out and erase the fault code, charge again and see whether it comes back
- 2Check that the charging cable is not damaged and that the correct type of charging cable is used
- 3Have a workshop check that the charging socket in the car is clean and undamaged and that the cable is fully seated in it
- 4Have a workshop check the wiring to the control module OBC. Do not work on the high voltage system yourself
Symptoms you may notice3
- Charging the high voltage battery from an external charging cable does not happen, is reduced or does not work correctly
- The LED on the charging cable or the charging socket shows a fault and charging is reduced
- A text message and a warning symbol are shown in the display
What the fault can affect1
- Charging the high voltage battery is not possible
