Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
1 modelV60 (2011–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The battery charger control module (OBC) checks that the cable can be latched to the car by the lock motor inside the charging socket. The fault is set when the control module detects an electrical fault in the circuit. The fault can be caused by battery voltage short-circuiting to the lock motor, and then charging the high voltage battery is not possible.
Possible causes
- Battery voltage short-circuited to the lock motor
What you can do
- 1Read out and erase the fault code, charge again and see whether it comes back
- 2Check that the charging socket in the car is not damaged and that the charging cable can be locked into it
- 3Have a workshop check the cables to the charging socket. Do not work on the high voltage system yourself
Symptoms you may notice2
- Charging the high voltage battery from an external charging cable does not happen, is reduced or does not work correctly
- The LED on the charging cable or the charging socket shows a fault and charging is reduced
What the fault can affect1
- Charging the high voltage battery is not possible
