What does this fault code mean?
The battery charger control module (OBC) and the charger for the high voltage battery sit in the same unit and talk to each other over a local CAN. The fault is set when the internal start-up of the local CAN fails, while the cable is plugged in and its switch is turned on. The fault is caused by an internal fault in OBC, which you cannot fix yourself, and charging the high voltage battery is not possible while it remains.

What you can do
- 1Read out and erase the fault code, charge again with the charging cable connected and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the control module and, if needed, reprogram it with the latest software or replace it. The high voltage system may only be handled by authorised personnel
Symptoms you may notice2
- Charging the high voltage battery from an external charging cable does not happen, is reduced or does not work correctly
- The LED on the charging cable or the charging socket shows a fault and charging is reduced
