What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance camera module (PAC) monitors how much current the rear camera draws. The consumption should stay within a certain range, and the fault is set when it does not. The fault can come from poor contact or oxidation at the connections, an open circuit or short circuit in the cable to the camera, or a missing or damaged rear camera.
Possible causes
- Poor contact or oxidation in the connections to the rear camera
- Open circuit or short circuit in the cable to the rear camera
- Damaged rear camera
- The rear camera is missing
- Damaged parking assistance camera module (PAC)
What you can do
- 1Check that the rear camera is fitted and that its cable is not damaged
- 2Check that the connectors at the rear camera are firmly seated and not oxidised
- 3Have a workshop measure the power supply to the rear camera. Replace the rear camera first if needed, and the parking assistance camera module (PAC) only if that does not help
Symptoms you may notice1
- The parking camera does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The rear camera is switched off until the end of the current drive
