What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance camera module (PAC) monitors how much current the side view camera draws. The consumption should stay within a certain range, and the fault is set when it does not. The fault can come from poor contact or oxidation at the connections, an open or short circuit in the wire, a damaged side view camera, a missing side view camera or a damaged parking assistance camera module (PAC).
Possible causes
- Poor contact or oxidation in the connections to the side view camera
- Open circuit or short circuit in the wire to the side view camera
- Damaged side view camera
- The side view camera is missing
- Damaged parking assistance camera module (PAC)
What you can do
- 1Check that the side view camera is fitted and that its wire is not damaged
- 2Check that the connectors at the side view camera are firmly seated and not oxidised
- 3Have a workshop test by swapping the side view camera. The parking assistance camera module (PAC) is replaced first only if that does not help
Symptoms you may notice1
- The parking camera does not work
What the fault can affect1
- The side view camera is switched off until the end of the current drive
