What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance camera module (PAC) should get its data from the transmission control module (TCM) over the CAN link. The fault is set when communication with the TCM is missing. The cause lies in the control module that sends the information, and park assist does not work while the fault remains.
Possible causes
- The cause may lie in the transmitting control module, the transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1With the ignition on, check that the lighting on the gear selector panel lights. This shows that the transmission control module (TCM) has power and earth
- 2Check the fuse for the transmission control module in the engine compartment fuse box. If it has blown, look for a short to earth before fitting a new one
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, try to communicate with the transmission control module. If it does not respond, the fault may be harder to find
- 4Have a workshop check the wire between the transmission control module and earth, and the wire from the engine compartment fuse box
