What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance camera module (PAC) talks to the transmission control module (TCM) non-stop. The fault is set when communication with the TCM is disturbed or missing. The fault can come from a missing or broken voltage supply or ground to the TCM, contact resistance, broken or short-circuited CAN wires, or a TCM that is not intended for the car, for example a used control module.
Possible causes
- No power reaches the transmission control module (TCM)
- Open circuit in the ground wire to the transmission control module (TCM)
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Open circuit or short circuit in the CAN wires
- The transmission control module (TCM) does not match this car, such as a second-hand unit with other software or hardware
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuse for the transmission control module in the engine compartment fuse box is intact
- 2Erase the fault code and test drive the car to see whether it comes back
- 3Has the transmission control module been replaced recently, or is it used? Tell the workshop, since it then needs the right software
- 4Have a workshop check the power supply, the ground and the CAN wires to the transmission control module, and download new software if needed
