What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance camera module (PAC) normally gets its data from SAS, the steering wheel angle sensor, over CAN. The fault is set when communication with the SAS is missing. The fault should be traced in the control module that sends the information, and park assist does not work while the fault remains.
Possible causes
- The cause may lie in the transmitting control module, the steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS)
What you can do
- 1Check that the connectors in the steering electronics are firmly seated and not oxidised, and that the fuses are intact
- 2Erase the fault code and test drive the car to see whether it comes back
- 3Have a workshop check the power supply, earth and CAN wires to the steering wheel module (SWM). Steering is safety-critical, so do not work on the sensor yourself
