What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance camera module (PAC) is continuously supplied with the necessary information from the trailer module (TRM) over CAN communication, and checks it. The fault is set when communication with the TRM is missing. The cause may lie in the TRM, in an open or short circuit on the CAN wires, or in the parking camera.
Possible causes
- The cause may lie in the trailer module (TRM)
- Short circuit between the CAN wires
- Open circuit in one of the CAN wires
- Damaged parking assistance camera module (PAC)
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop look for the fault in the trailer module (TRM) first. If nothing is found there, the CAN communication is probably at fault
- 2Check that the fuses are intact and that the connectors in the car's CAN network are firmly seated
- 3Clear the fault code and test drive the car. If it comes back, the fault is still present
- 4Have a workshop check the CAN wires, and replace the parking assistance camera module (PAC) only if no fault is found on the wires
