What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance camera module (PAC) communicates all the time with the infotainment control module (ICM). The fault is set when communication with the ICM is disturbed or missing. The fault can come from a missing or broken voltage supply or earth to the ICM, contact resistance, broken or short-circuited CAN wires, or an ICM that does not match this car, such as a second-hand unit with other software or hardware.
Possible causes
- Voltage supply to the infotainment control module (ICM) is missing
- Open circuit in the earth cable to the infotainment control module (ICM)
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Open circuit or short circuit in the CAN wires
- The infotainment control module (ICM) does not match this car, such as a second-hand unit with other software or hardware
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuse for the infotainment system is intact and that the earth point is firmly fixed and not oxidised
- 2Erase the fault code and test drive the car to see whether it comes back
- 3Has the infotainment control module been replaced recently, or is it used? Tell the workshop, since it then needs the right software
- 4Have a workshop check the power supply, the earth and the CAN wires to the infotainment control module
