What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance camera module (PAC) checks its ID against the signal setup broadcast by the central electronic module (CEM) sends on the CAN network. The control modules on the network must share the same signal configuration ID in order to communicate. The fault is set when the ID in PAC does not match. The cause may be a control module that is not intended for the car, an open circuit in the CAN wires to the CEM, a fault in the CEM, or missing or wrong software in PAC.
Possible causes
- Incorrect configuration ID, because the control module does not match this car, such as a second-hand unit with other software or hardware
- Open circuit in the CAN wires between this unit and the central electronic module (CEM)
- The cause may lie in the central electronic module (CEM)
- Software is missing or wrong in the parking assistance camera module (PAC)
What you can do
- 1Has the parking camera been swapped for a used one, or replaced recently? Tell the workshop, since it then needs the right configuration and software
- 2Erase the fault code and test drive the car to see whether it comes back
- 3Have a workshop check the CAN wires between the parking camera and the central electronic module (CEM), and trace the fault in the CEM
- 4Have a workshop program the parking assistance camera module (PAC) with the right software if it is missing or wrong
