What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance camera module (PAC) supplies power to a connected camera. The fault is set when the wire to the camera is broken or touches supply voltage. It can come from a loose connection at the video cable joint, a damaged wire, a damaged camera or a damaged PAC. Park assist does not work while the fault remains.
Possible causes
- Poor contact where the video cable attaches to the camera or control module
- Damaged cable between the control module and the camera
- Damaged camera
- Damaged control module
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact and that the connectors at the video cable joints are firmly seated and not oxidised
- 2Check that the cable to the camera is not damaged, for example chafed or pinched
- 3Erase the fault code and test drive in a gear other than reverse to see whether it comes back
- 4Have a workshop measure the cable to the camera for open circuits and short circuits to voltage, and replace the camera or the parking assistance camera module (PAC) if damaged
Symptoms you may notice1
