What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance module (PAM) has registered that the voltage in the signal wire to the outer left rear sensor is too high for a period of time. The cause may be a damaged sensor, or the signal wire having contact with supply voltage in the wire or the connectors.
Possible causes
- Damaged parking sensor
- The signal wire is short-circuited to supply voltage
- Short-circuit in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then switch the ignition on again to see whether it comes back
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool, read the signal status for the outer left rear sensor, with and without the sensor connector attached
- 3With the ignition switched off, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire between the parking assistance module and the sensor connector has no contact with supply voltage
- 4Check the connectors at the sensor and the other connectors along the wire; if the wiring is intact but the fault remains, replace the sensor
- 5Have a workshop trace the fault further if it remains after these checks
Symptoms you may notice3
- Yellow warning symbol and text message in the display
- Text message in the display
