What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance module has no contact with the CAN network, so it cannot receive or send messages to the other control modules. The fault lies either in a broken connection or in the parking assistance module itself.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the connections
- Damaged parking assistance module
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then test drive the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Check that the connectors to the parking assistance module are firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the codes in the other control modules and see whether they also show communication faults
- 4Have a workshop measure the wiring to the parking assistance module and look for breaks in the connections
- 5If the fault remains and the wiring is intact, have a workshop replace the parking assistance module
