VOLVO
PAM-U300316 - Battery Voltage. General Electrical Failures. Circuit voltage below threshold
System
Parking Assistance Module (PAM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
6 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance module (PAM) checks the voltage in its own supply system. The fault code is stored when the voltage is too low for a longer period, and Low voltage can be caused by a supply wire shorted to ground, poor contact or a damaged generator.
Possible causes
- The supply wire to the control module is shorted to ground
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Damaged generator
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact; their location is shown in the owner's manual or on the cover of the fuse box
- 2Check that the battery terminals and the cables to them are clean and firmly fitted
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the parking assistance is not in contact with ground (the body)
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the voltage the parking assistance reports and see whether it follows the battery voltage when the engine runs
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop check the supply to the control module and the generator
