Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The parking assistance module (PAM) compares its own system voltage with the voltage that the central electronic module (CEM) sends over the bus. The fault code is stored when the voltage values do not match for a longer period. The code is only worth troubleshooting when it has been active for a long time during the driving cycle and the driver notices that a function is not working.
Possible causes
- A power feed wire is shorted out against the vehicle body
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Damaged generator
What you can do
- 1If the fault code has not been active for long or no function is affected, it can be ignored and erased
- 2Check that the fuses for the parking assistance are intact
- 3Check the connections in the supply to the parking assistance for looseness and oxidation
- 4With a multimeter, check that the supply wire to the parking assistance is not touching ground (the body)
- 5If the fault returns and a function does not work, have a workshop check the generator and the charging system
Symptoms you may notice5
