What does this fault code mean?
The Park Brake Module (PBM) checks its internal components. The fault code is stored when the module registers a wrong offset value, meaning that the zero level of the signal is off. The fault can be caused by the control module being installed incorrectly or by a fault inside it.
Possible causes
- The control module is installed incorrectly
- A fault inside the Park Brake Module (PBM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code, clear it and test drive the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the control module is firmly installed and that its connectors are secure
- 3If the fault returns despite correct installation, have a workshop replace the Park Brake Module (PBM)
- 4The parking brake is a safety function: have a workshop check it if it does not engage or release as it should
Symptoms you may notice2
- Text message with a warning symbol in the display
- Parking brake does not work, works reduced, or works incorrectly
