What does this fault code mean?
The parking brake module (PBM) continuously receives information from the brake control module (BCM) over the CAN bus and checks its quality. The fault code is stored when the information from the BCM is incorrect or unreasonable.
Possible causes
- Fault in the brake control module (BCM), which sends the incorrect information
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code, clear it and test drive the car using the parking brake to see whether it returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: compare the fault codes in the brake control module (BCM) with those in the parking brake
- 3If the fault returns, have a workshop check the brake control module (BCM) and the information it sends
- 4The parking brake is a safety function: have a workshop check it if it does not work as it should
