What does this fault code mean?
The driver or passenger door module exchanges signals with the module in each rear door. The fault concerns the signal cable to the child-proof lock motor in the rear door, and it is stored when the cable has an open circuit or is short-circuited to supply voltage. The child lock does not work while the fault is present.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal cable
- Signal cable short-circuited to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Check the wiring to the child-proof lock in the rear door: look for damage, chafing and loose connectors
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal cable has no open circuit and no contact with supply voltage
- 3Remedy connectors or wiring where you find damage or poor contact
- 4If no fault is found in the wiring, have a workshop fit a new module in the rear door
- 5Switch off the ignition, reconnect the connectors, switch the ignition on and check that the child lock works
Symptoms you may notice1
