What does this fault code mean?
The driver or passenger door control module exchanges signals with the module in each rear door. The fault concerns the signal cable to the child-proof lock motor in the rear door and is stored when that cable is short-circuited to ground. The child lock does not work while the fault is present.
Possible causes
- Signal cable short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Check the wiring to the child-proof lock in the rear door: look for damage, chafing and loose connectors
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal cable is not short-circuited to ground (the body)
- 3Remedy connectors or wiring where you find damage or poor contact
- 4If no fault is found in the wiring, have a workshop fit a new module in the rear door
- 5Switch off the ignition, reconnect the connectors, switch the ignition on and check that the child lock works
Symptoms you may notice1
