What does this fault code mean?
The passenger door module (PDM) controls the door mirror motors. The code is set when the motor for moving the mirror upwards is activated while the module detects a short to ground in the wiring. The mirror control then does not work.
Possible causes
- The signal wire for the mirror's up and down movement is shorted to ground
- Chafed cable in the door grommet or at the mirror
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the door module and the mirror are intact
- 2Inspect the wiring between the door and the mirror for chafing and damage, especially where it passes through the door
- 3If no damage is found, the fault may be in the mirror motor, and a workshop can try replacing it
- 4If the fault was only a one-off and does not return, no action is needed
Symptoms you may notice1
