What does this fault code mean?
The passenger door module (PDM) supplies power to the outside mirror with automatic dimming on the passenger side. The control module has registered that the current on the output is too high, and the mirror functions then do not work. The fault therefore concerns the power supply to the mirror, not the mirror glass itself.
Possible causes
- Signal cable to the passenger side mirror is short-circuited to ground
- Moisture and/or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the ground lead between the passenger side mirror and the passenger door module is intact and that the connections are clean and dry
- 2Look for moisture, oxidation and damage in the connectors at the mirror
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal cable to the mirror is not short-circuited to ground (the body)
- 4If no fault is found in the wiring, replace the passenger side mirror
- 5After the work, clear the fault code and check that it does not come back when tested again
Symptoms you may notice1
- The mirrors and the automatic dimming do not work
