What does this fault code mean?
The passenger door module (PDM) supplies power to the outside mirror with automatic dimming on the passenger side. The control module has registered that the current on the output is too high. The fault may be caused by the signal cable being short-circuited to supply voltage or having an open circuit, and the automatic dimming of the mirror then does not work.
Possible causes
- Signal cable to the passenger side mirror is short-circuited to supply voltage or has an open circuit
- Moisture and/or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the power cable between the passenger side mirror and the passenger door module is intact
- 2Look for moisture, oxidation and damage in the connections at the mirror and the control module
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the cable has no open circuit and no contact with supply voltage
- 4If no fault is found in the wiring, replace the passenger side mirror
- 5After the work, clear the fault code and check that it does not come back when tested again
Symptoms you may notice1
- The mirrors and the automatic dimming do not work
