What does this fault code mean?
The module in the left front door powers the defrost heating element in the left door mirror. The control module has registered that the signal from the output is too low when the defroster is activated. The mirror heating then does not work, because the signal cable to the defroster is short-circuited to ground.
Possible causes
- Signal cable to the door mirror defroster is short-circuited to ground
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 2Try the heating of the left door mirror and check whether it works
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal cable to the defroster is not short-circuited to ground (the body)
- 4Look for damage, chafing and moisture in the wiring at the left door mirror and check that the connectors are clean
- 5Remedy as needed, then check that the heating of the left door mirror works afterwards
