What does this fault code mean?
The module in the right front door supplies the defrost heater element of the right door mirror. The control module has registered that the signal from the output is too high when the defroster is activated. The fault may be caused by the signal cable to the defroster being short-circuited to supply voltage or having an open circuit, and then the mirror heating does not work.
Possible causes
- Signal cable to the door mirror defroster is short-circuited to supply voltage
- Open circuit in the signal cable
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 2Try the heating of the right door mirror and check whether it works
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal cable to the defroster in the right mirror has neither an open circuit nor contact with supply voltage
- 4Look for damage and chafing on the wiring at the right door mirror and check the connectors for oxidation
- 5Remedy as needed, then check that the heating of the right door mirror works afterwards
Symptoms you may notice1
