What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is titled left front puddle lamp, it concerns the lamp in the right door mirror, which the front right door module supplies. The module has flagged a signal from the output that is too high. The right mirror lamp then does not work.
Possible causes
- Voltage supply cable to the lamp short-circuited to supply voltage
- Open circuit in the voltage supply cable
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 2Activate the lamp in the right mirror and see whether it lights
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the right mirror lamp has neither an open circuit nor contact with supply voltage
- 4Inspect the wiring at the right mirror for pinch damage and loose or oxidized connectors
- 5Once repaired, activate the lamp and confirm that it comes on
