What does this fault code mean?
Each window lift has a Hall sensor that measures how fast the window motor turns, and that is how the control module determines the window position. The module has flagged a faulty signal from the sensor for the front side window, and the window functions then cannot be activated.
Possible causes
- Damaged Hall sensor
- Signal cable short-circuited to supply voltage
- Signal cable short-circuited to ground
- Open circuit in the signal cable
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 2Try the front side window from its switch and see whether it can be operated
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, watch the Hall sensor signal in live data and check that it changes smoothly as the window goes up and down
- 4Look for damage and loose connections in the wiring to the Hall sensor in the front door
- 5If no fault is found in the wiring, the sensor may be damaged, and a workshop should replace it
Symptoms you may notice1
- Automatic closing of the windows does not work
