Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–)
What does this fault code mean?
The control module in the rear door supplies the central locking and the child safety lock through a common pole and a relay. The driver or passenger door module receives information about the relay status from the rear door control modules. The fault code is set when the voltage is too low or too high, or when the relay has jammed.
Possible causes
- Short-circuit to ground
- Short-circuit to supply voltage
- The relay has jammed
What you can do
- 1Use a multimeter on the cable harness to the rear door to check that it is not short-circuited to ground or supply voltage
- 2Check that the physical lock in the door moves easily by hand
- 3Test the central locking and see whether the fault code returns
- 4The fault code indicates a damaged component in the control module in the rear door. Have a workshop replace it
- 5After the replacement, lock and unlock the car to check that the fault code does not return
Symptoms you may notice2
- Locking, unlocking and central locking do not work
- Child lock on the doors does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Other outputs that supply the lock motors are switched on
