Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–)
What does this fault code mean?
The driver or passenger door module (DDM/PDM) supplies power to the Hall sensor in the front window mechanism. The Hall sensor measures how fast the window motor turns, which is how the window position is determined. The module has flagged a signal from the output that is too low, and it then blocks the automatic window operation. The cause is a power supply wire to the sensor short-circuited to ground.
Possible causes
- Power supply cable short-circuited to ground
- Moisture and/or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 2Try the front window from its switch and see whether it can be operated
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, watch the Hall sensor signal for the front window in live data as the window moves
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the Hall sensor is not short-circuited to ground (the body)
- 5Look for moisture and oxidation in the connectors at the window motor in the front door and remedy them
Symptoms you may notice1
- Electric window does not work, works reduced or works incorrectly
What the fault can affect1
