What does this fault code mean?
The passenger door module (PDM) powers the turn indicator in the exterior mirror. The module has detected that the current on the output is too high, which points to the supply cable being shorted to ground.
Possible causes
- Supply cable to the turn indicator is shorted to ground
- Moisture and/or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and activate the indicators to see whether the code comes back
- 2Check the fuses in the fuse box; if a fuse has blown, look for a short to ground before a new fuse is fitted
- 3Check the connectors in the exterior mirror and at the door module for moisture, oxidation and loose contact
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the turn indicator has no contact with ground (the body)
- 5If you have diagnostic equipment, activate the indicator in the mirrors and check that it lights
- 6If the wire is intact but the code comes back: have a workshop check the door module
Symptoms you may notice1
- Side marker lights or position lights do not work
What the fault can affect1
