Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–)
What does this fault code mean?
The driver and passenger door modules (DDM/PDM) control the window lift in each front door via a relay. The module has detected that the relay for the window motor up direction is active when it should be inactive, which may be because the relay has stuck.
Possible causes
- Someone has run the window with diagnostic equipment
- The relay has stuck in the active position
What you can do
- 1If the window lifts have recently been operated with diagnostic equipment at a workshop, that may be the cause; clear the code and check whether it comes back
- 2Check that the front door window does not move up by itself when no switch is pressed
- 3Check that the fuses for the window lifts are intact in the fuse box
- 4Check that the connectors at the door module and the window lift motor are secure and free from moisture and oxidation
- 5If you have diagnostic equipment, read the relay status in live data when no switch is in use and check whether it shows the active state
- 6If the fault remains: have a workshop check whether new software needs to be downloaded to the door module and whether it needs replacing
Symptoms you may notice1
- The electric window does not work, works with reduced function or works incorrectly
What the fault can affect1
- The control module activates the relay for the window lift down instead
