What does this fault code mean?

Automatic window operation depends on the door module knowing where the window's end stops are and how much resistance the lift meets when moving the glass. If the module loses this information, or judges the values to be incorrect, automatic operation stops working and the code is set. The code is erased automatically once the window has been initialised again.

    Possible causes

    • The glass was driven beyond its previously learned end stop
    • The module lost its position memory after a voltage dip while the lift was running
    • The window has been moved by hand, for example during a workshop visit
    • The initiation routine has been interrupted by pressing the window lift button
    • Movement was blocked on the way down, or the lift now meets different resistance, for instance from warped window seals or a bent door
    • Incorrect signal from the Hall sensor, or incorrect window configuration sent from the CEM

    What you can do

    1. 1Initialise the window: raise it to the upper end stop with the switch in the car, then lower it to the lower stop if needed; keep hands clear
    2. 2Check that the rear door window now runs up and down automatically and that the code does not come back
    3. 3Check that the window is not blocked by window seals or by a deformed door
    4. 4If initialisation does not help: work through the other causes of the code, such as the Hall sensor, and then initialise the window again
    5. 5Have a workshop check that the window configuration is correct and whether the control module needs reprogramming

    Symptoms you may notice1

    • The electric window does not work, works with reduced function or works incorrectly

    What the fault can affect1

    • The control module blocks automatic window operation

General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
