What does this fault code mean?
The lamp under the passenger door is wired straight to the PDM. The module has detected that the current on the output is too low, which may be caused by a defective lamp, wires shorted to voltage, or damaged cables or connectors. The test takes place shortly after the passenger door has been opened.
Possible causes
- The lamp in the passenger door's ground lighting is broken
- Wires are shorted to voltage
- Damaged cables or connectors
What you can do
- 1Open the passenger door and check whether the ground lighting comes on; then clear the code and see whether it comes back
- 2Check the lamp in the ground lighting and look for visible damage
- 3Check the cable between the lamp and the door module for visible damage, chafing and crushing
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire is not shorted to voltage and that it has no open circuit
- 5Check that the voltage connection is secure and clean
- 6If the fault remains: have a workshop replace the passenger door control module
