What does this fault code mean?
The passenger door module (PDM) supplies the motors in the exterior mirror on the passenger side, and the mirrors are operated from the switch panel on the driver's side. The module has detected that the signal from the output is too high, which may be caused by the supply cable being shorted to voltage or by an open circuit.
Possible causes
- Supply cable is shorted to voltage
- Open circuit in the supply cable
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and operate the passenger mirror from the driver-side switch panel to see whether the code comes back
- 2Check the fuses in the fuse box and make sure they are intact
- 3Check the connectors at the mirror motors and the door module for loose, oxidised or corroded contacts
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the mirror motors has no voltage when the mirror is switched off, and that it is intact with no open circuit
- 5If you have diagnostic equipment, activate the passenger mirror motors and check that they start
- 6If the wire is intact but the code comes back: have a workshop check the mirror motors and the door module
Symptoms you may notice1
- The exterior mirror on the passenger side cannot be operated
