What does this fault code mean?
The driver and passenger door modules (DDM/PDM) send and receive information over LIN, a standardised serial communication method. On LIN bus 2 they talk to the left and right camera control modules. The module has registered that a message is missing.
Possible causes
- The communication cable has an open circuit
- The communication cable is shorted to ground
- The communication cable is shorted to supply voltage
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- Open circuit in the connections
- Short circuit in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the code, then run a test drive and check whether the LED lights
- 2Check the fuses in the fuse box and make sure they are intact
- 3Check the connectors at the door module and the cameras for loose, oxidised or corroded contacts
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the communication cable is intact with no open circuit, and that it has no contact with ground (the body) or voltage
- 5If the wire is intact but the code comes back: have a workshop check the camera control modules and the door module
