What does this fault code mean?
The PDM monitors the reading from the sensor that controls the sideways adjustment of the passenger mirror. Each mirror is adjusted in two directions by its own motor. The module has registered a signal that is lower than expected, which may be caused by the signal cable being shorted to ground or having an open circuit.
Possible causes
- The signal cable is shorted to ground
- Open circuit on the signal cable
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and adjust the passenger mirror left and right to see whether the code comes back
- 2Check the fuses in the fuse box and make sure they are intact
- 3Check the connectors at the mirror and the door module for moisture, oxidation and loose contact
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal cable from the sensor has no contact with ground (the body) and that it has no open circuit
- 5If you have diagnostic equipment, read the mirror's sideways position in live data while you adjust the mirror to the side and check that the value changes smoothly
- 6If the wire is intact but the code comes back: have a workshop check the mirror motor and the door module
Symptoms you may notice1
- Outer mirror adjustment does not work
