PDM-U300362 - Battery Voltage. Algorithm Based Failures. Signal compare failure
System
Passenger Door Module (PDM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
9 modelsS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
What does this fault code mean?
The door module (DDM/PDM) compares its own system voltage against the CEM voltage. The fault is stored when the two do not match, which can be caused by a short circuit to ground, too low supply voltage, or moisture and oxidation in the connections. The code is only worth troubleshooting if it has been active for a long time during the current drive or if you notice malfunctions. Otherwise it does not indicate a fault and can simply be cleared.
Possible causes
- Power supply wiring short-circuited to ground
- Supply voltage too low
- Moisture and/or oxidation in the connections
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car; if none of the problems above apply, the code can be cleared without further action
- 2Check that the fuses are intact; see the owner's manual for where they are
- 3Check that the battery is in good condition and the alternator is charging, and that the earth connection to the door module is secure and free from oxidation
- 4Check that the wiring to the door module has no chafing or short circuit to ground, and that the connectors are dry and clean
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool: follow the system voltage in live data while you activate the windows and mirrors, and check that it stays steady
- 6Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment compare the door module voltage with the CEM voltage if the fault remains
Symptoms you may notice5
- Electric windows do not work
- The door mirror defrost does not work
- The windows work reduced or incorrectly
- Locking, unlocking and central locking do not work
- Doors and child lock do not work
