What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent, meaning sporadic. The keypad or phone module (PHM) registers a break in the MBUS signal, and the phone then does not work. The cause can be a break in the MBUS wiring, a faulty connector, or an internal fault in the phone box.
Possible causes
- Break in the MBUS wiring between the phone box and the keypad or phone module (PHM)
- Fault in the connector on the phone box or on the keypad or phone module
- Internal fault in the phone box
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the phone to see whether it comes back
- 2With the ignition off, check that the connectors on the phone box and the keypad are secure and free from oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the MBUS wiring between the phone box and the keypad is not broken
- 4If the code does not come back, no further action is needed
- 5If it comes back and the wiring and connectors are sound, have a workshop check the phone box
