What does this fault code mean?
The fault is intermittent, meaning sporadic, and applies to cars with the EU/OS version. The phone module (PHM) registers that the cradle switch signal is broken, so the handset does not work.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the cradle signal wiring to the handset
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check that the connectors on the handset and on the phone module are secure and free from oxidation
- 2If you find no fault in the wiring, you can try replacing the handset
- 3Look for breaks and chafing in the cradle signal wire, and use a multimeter to check that it is not broken
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop fault-trace the phone module
Symptoms you may notice2
