What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns the supply to the handset, meaning the power from the control module. The phone module (PHM) registers that the power supply to the handset has a short to ground, and then the handset does not work. Hands-free still works.
Possible causes
- Power supply cable to the handset from the control module is shorted to ground
What you can do
- 1With the ignition off, check that the connector to the handset is secure and clean
- 2Look for chafing or pinching on the cable that supplies the handset, and use a multimeter to check that it has no contact with ground (the body)
- 3Check that the phone fuse is intact; see the owner's manual for where it is
- 4If you find no fault in the cable, you can try replacing the handset
Symptoms you may notice2
