What does this fault code mean?
The fault comes from parts in the car not matching each other. The carphone control module (PHM) detects that the control signal for the SOS On Call switch has the wrong value, because the switches and the control module belong to different equipment levels. Other mobile phone and Volvo On Call problems can then occur.
Possible causes
- The SOS On Call switches are fitted and connected in a car that is meant to have a phone module without the SOS On Call function
- A phone module without the SOS On Call function is fitted in a car that is meant to have SOS On Call
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code before clearing it, so the workshop can see it
- 2Check whether the car has SOS On Call switches and whether it should have them according to its equipment
- 3Have a workshop check that the control module and switches match the car's equipment; if the car should not have Volvo On Call, the switches in the console are removed
