What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named emergency microphone, it applies to the voltage on the spare loudspeaker, which is either too high or missing. The cause is that the spare loudspeaker is short-circuited to supply voltage or that its circuit is open. The mobile phone and Volvo On Call may then have other problems, and a warning symbol appears.
Possible causes
- The spare loudspeaker is short-circuited to supply voltage
- The circuit to the spare loudspeaker is open
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code before clearing it, so the workshop can see it
- 2Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the spare loudspeaker and its circuit
- 3If the fault remains, have a workshop replace the carphone control module (PHM)
Symptoms you may notice3
- Other mobile phone problems
- Other Volvo On Call problems
- A text message appears together with a warning symbol
