What does this fault code mean?
The carphone control module (PHM) reads the signal voltage coming from the telephone antenna and finds an open circuit in the wire between the antenna and the control module. The signal is then missing, or becomes too high if the wire is short-circuited to supply voltage. Poor contact can also cause it, which makes reception poor.
Possible causes
- The telephone antenna signal wire between the GPS antenna and the carphone control module (PHM) has an open circuit
- The telephone antenna signal wire between the GPS antenna and the carphone control module (PHM) is short-circuited to supply voltage
- Poor contact, oxidation or a loose joint in the connectors
What you can do
- 1Check that the connectors in the antenna wiring are firmly seated and free from corrosion
- 2Once the connectors are checked, use a multimeter to check that the antenna wiring has no open circuit
- 3Read and note the code before clearing it, and road test to see whether it returns
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop repair the wiring or connectors
