What does this fault code mean?
The telephone module (PHM) checks the SOS On Call switch circuit. The fault is stored when one of the buttons has been pressed in for longer than normal, which is due to the switch being stuck in the pressed position. Volvo On Call can then have no function or only reduced function.
Possible causes
- The SOS and/or On Call switch is stuck in the pressed position
What you can do
- 1Look at the buttons in the console. If one is stuck pressed in, carefully free it and check that it springs back
- 2Check that the button is not damaged, sits crooked or is held by something jammed around it
- 3Clear the code and road test the car. If the fault returns, a workshop should replace or adjust the switch
